Dr. Kat Brown,

PhD, LPC - Available at the Virginia Beach office and telehealth.

Dr. Brown received her doctoral degree in Counseling and Counselor Education from Old Dominion University in Norfolk. She is currently an adjunct assistant professor in the counseling graduate program at Old Dominion University. Dr. Brown has over six years of experience working in the mental health field with a variety of diverse populations. She believes in the incorporation of multicultural awareness and cultural humility in all aspects of her clinical work. Dr. Brown applies a CBT theoretical foundation to therapy incorporating strengths-based approaches, positive psychology, and mindfulness practices. Dr. Brown provides her clients with a safe space in which to explore their current concerns, unpack their personal history, and positively develop their identity.

Dr. Brown focuses on helping clients with anxiety, depression, coping skills, stress, self-worth, relationship concerns, and identity development. She provides culturally alert counseling to children, adolescent, adult, and LGBT populations. Dr. Brown offers individual, family, and couples therapy and is polyamory informed.
